Product Specific Information

  • Overlaps 100% with all 3 isoforms of CD74.
  • A 1:1,000 dilution of MA5-45385 was sufficient for detection of CD74 in 15 µg of B-Cell Lymphoma cell line Raji by ECL immunoblot analysis using Goat Anti-Mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
  • Detects approximately 33 kDa protein.

Target Information

HLA-DR, like other MHC class II molecules, is a transmembrane glycoprotein composed of a 36 kDa alpha chain (DRA) and a 27 kDa beta chain (DRB). The alpha chain gene contains 5 exons: exon 1 encodes the leader peptide, exons 2 and 3 encode extracellular domains, exon 4 encodes the transmembrane domain and cytoplasmic tail.
DRA acts as the sole alpha chain for DRB1, DRB3, DRB4, and DRB5, while the beta chain contains polymorphisms specifying peptide binding specificities.
HLA-DR is expressed primarily on antigen-presenting cells such as B lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, thymic epithelial cells, and activated T lymphocytes.
The human MHC class II molecules (DR, DQ, and DP) bind intracellularly processed peptides, present them to T-helper cells, and play a critical role in initiating immune responses.
