Target Information

In the nucleus, DNA is tightly packed into nucleosomes, creating a repressive environment for DNA processes such as transcription. Acetylation of lysine residues within proteins is an important mechanism used by cells to overcome this repression.
Acetylation of both histone and non-histone proteins, such as transcription factors, is involved in chromatin remodeling and transcriptional activation. This modification may induce structural transitions and specific signaling within chromatin domains.
Recognition of acetylated lysine by bromodomains serves as a regulatory mechanism in protein-protein interactions and intracellular signaling.

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
