This antibody detects endogenous levels of p95/NBS1 only when phosphorylated at serine 278.
Target Information
The p95 gene (identical to NBS1 and nibrin) is a component of the hMre11/hRad50 double-strand break complex. This protein complex is associated with Nijmegen breakage syndrome, an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by increased cancer risk, cell cycle checkpoint defects, and sensitivity to ionizing radiation. It provides a molecular link between double-strand break repair and cell cycle checkpoint control.
