Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of APC only when phosphorylated at Ser2054.
Target Information
The APC gene encodes a tumor suppressor protein that antagonizes the Wnt signaling pathway. It plays roles in cell migration, adhesion, transcriptional activation, and apoptosis. Mutations in APC cause familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), an autosomal dominant pre-malignant disease that often progresses to malignancy. Disease-associated mutations are typically clustered in the mutation cluster region (MCR), leading to truncated protein products.
