- Detects a band at approximately 25 kDa in Western blot applications.

Target Information
TRIM5 belongs to a large family of proteins characterized by a tripartite motif comprising a RING domain, B-box type 1, B-box type 2, and a coiled-coil region.
TRIM5 has five alternatively spliced isoforms; the longest, TRIM5α, includes a C-terminal B30.2 (SPRY) domain.
Expression of TRIM5α variants from humans and other primates confers resistance to various retroviruses, including HIV-1, with differing efficiencies.
The TRIM5δ isoform colocalizes with BTBD1 and BTBD2 proteins in cytoplasmic bodies, acting as a scaffold for assembly of endogenous BTBD proteins.
TRIM5δ also exhibits autoubiquitination activity dependent on the RING finger and UbcH5B.
