Target Information
ORM1 is an acute phase plasma protein synthesized by the liver. It regulates interactions between blood and endothelial cells, and, together with haptoglobin and C-reactive protein, modulates cell extravasation during infection and inflammation. ORM1 is a major acute phase reactant found in human plasma at 0.5–1.4 mg/mL, elevated during acute inflammation (e.g., trauma, malignancy, myocardial infarction, rheumatoid arthritis, bacterial infection, surgery, chronic pain). It serves as a biomarker for inflammatory conditions.
