Product Specific Information

Antibody detects endogenous levels of MAP3K8/COT only when phosphorylated at Ser443.

Target Information

MAP3K8 (COT) is a serine/threonine kinase that activates both MAP and JNK kinase pathways and plays a role in the cell cycle.
Mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling cascades include MAPK (ERK), MAPK kinase (MEK), and MAPK kinase kinase (MEKK).
MEKK phosphorylates and activates its downstream kinase MEK, which in turn activates MAPK.
These signaling cascades are highly conserved across species.
MEKK8 can activate NF-kappa-B1 by stimulating proteasome-mediated proteolysis of NF-kappa-B1/p105.
This cytoplasmic protein is expressed in several normal tissues and tumor-derived cell lines.
The 58 kDa form is activated during S and G2/M phases of the cell cycle.
The longer form undergoes phosphorylation mainly on Ser residues, and the shorter form on both Ser and Thr residues.
