Target Information
CD20 is a non-glycosylated surface phosphoprotein with a molecular weight range of 33–37 kDa depending on phosphorylation. It is expressed on mature and most malignant B cells, as well as a subset of T lymphocytes and follicular dendritic cells. CD20 expression coincides with surface IgM and regulates calcium conductance, cell cycle progression, and B-cell proliferation. It associates with lipid rafts and participates in BCR signaling dynamics. CD20 remains at the cell surface after receptor ligation and is a key target for antibody-mediated B-cell depletion in malignancies. Diseases associated with CD20 dysfunction include Ms4a1-related common variable immune deficiency.
