Product Specific Information
1 µg/mL of MA5-45334 was sufficient for detection of Drosophila HSP70 using an indirect assay with rabbit anti-rat IgG and goat anti-rabbit IgG:HRP. Detects approximately 70 kDa (heat-inducible form).
Target Information
HSP70 is a heat shock protein expressed in response to various biological stresses, including high temperatures. The HSP70 family includes several conserved proteins found across organisms and plays a crucial role in stabilizing proteins against aggregation and assisting in protein folding. Human HSP70 family members include:
- HSP70: Inducible and constitutively expressed in primate cells
- HSP72: Induced exclusively under stress
- HSC70: Constitutively expressed, involved in clathrin-coated vesicle uncoating
- GRP78 (BiP): ER-localized, glucose-regulated protein
- p75 (HSP75): Mitochondrial protein
HSP70 is encoded by an intronless gene and contributes to protein stability and folding, as well as the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway via interaction with AU-rich element RNA-binding protein 1. Located in the MHC class III region with two closely related genes.
