Target Information
Kallikreins (KLKs) are serine proteases involved in proteolytic processing. Human KLK gene family consists of 15 members located on chromosome 19q13.
KLK1 encodes pancreatic/renal enzyme involved in post-translational processing.
KLK2 and KLK3 (known as glandular kallikrein 2 and prostate-specific antigen, respectively) are widely used in prostate and breast cancer diagnostics.
KLK4–15 proteases show diverse expression patterns, including high levels in prostatic and pancreatic tissues.
