Target Information
Zinc-finger proteins contain DNA-binding domains and function mainly in transcriptional activation or repression. Most zinc-finger proteins possess a Krueppel-type DNA-binding domain and a KRAB domain, which interacts with KAP1 to recruit histone-modifying proteins. Zinc finger protein 225 (ZNF225) is a 706 amino acid member of the Krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. It localizes to the nucleus and contains eighteen C2H2-type zinc fingers and one KRAB domain, contributing to DNA-binding and transcriptional regulation.
