Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
C/EBP α regulates gene expression in various tissues including liver, adipose, lung, and intestine. It binds DNA through a bipartite structural motif where two protein chains dimerize via amphipathic α-helices (leucine zipper). Basic polypeptide regions extend from the zipper to form DNA contact surfaces. C/EBP α functions primarily in terminally differentiated, growth-arrested cells. Other family members include C/EBP β, γ, δ, and ε, which share similar DNA-binding specificities. C/EBP β and δ can form heterodimers with each other and with C/EBP α.
