The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
HMGB2 encodes a member of the non-histone chromosomal high mobility group protein family. These chromatin-associated proteins are ubiquitously distributed in the nucleus of higher eukaryotic cells. In vitro studies have shown that HMGB2 efficiently bends DNA and forms DNA circles, suggesting a role in facilitating cooperative interactions between cis-acting proteins by promoting DNA flexibility. HMGB2 is also involved in the final ligation step in DNA end-joining processes, including double-strand break repair and V(D)J recombination.
