Product Specific Information
In direct ELISAs, 100% cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) SULT1A3 and rhSULT1C4 and approximately 10% cross-reactivity with rhSULT1B1 is observed.
No cross-reactivity with rhSULT1E1, 2A1, 2B1, or 4A1 is observed.
Reconstitute in sterile PBS to a final concentration of 0.5 mg/mL.
Target Information
The soluble sulfotransferases contribute to the elimination of xenobiotics, activation of procarcinogens, and regulation of hormones by catalyzing sulfate conjugation.
Members of the SULT superfamily (SULT1, SULT2, SULT3) show substrate selectivity.
SULT1A1 (sulfotransferase family, cytosolic, 1A, phenol-preferring, member 1) is a 295 amino acid cytoplasmic protein functioning as a homodimer, expressed in brain, liver, skin, and lung tissue. It catalyzes sulfate conjugation of catecholamines, phenolic drugs, and neurotransmitters, aiding in compound elimination.
SULT1A1 may also participate in activation of carcinogenic N-hydroxyarylamines, suggesting a role in carcinogenesis.
