  • PA1-804 detects FoxO1a in human and rat samples.
  • Successfully used in Western blot procedures.
  • Detects a ~66 kDa protein representing FoxO1a in rat heart and lung protein extracts.
  • Immunogen sequence is conserved in mouse and rat.
  • Fig. 1 shows a Western blot of FoxO1a in rat lung protein extract using PA1-804.

Target Information

FOXO1 (FKHR, Forkhead Box O1) is a transcription factor belonging to the forkhead homeotic gene family.
It can act as a coactivator or corepressor of nuclear receptor activity via the LXXLL motif in its C-terminal region.
Association of FOXO1 with PAX3 has been linked to alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma.

FOXO1 plays key roles in:

  • Anti-tumor activity, autophagy, and myogenic differentiation
  • Regulation of metabolic homeostasis in response to oxidative stress
  • Binding to insulin response element (IRE) and Daf-16 family binding element (DBE)
  • Controlling redox balance, osteoblast numbers, and bone mass
  • Regulating glucose metabolism via endocrine function of the skeleton
  • Promoting gluconeogenesis in hepatocytes with PPARGC1A to activate IGFBP1, G6PC, and PPCK1
  • Acting downstream of CDK1, PKB/AKT1, and SKT4/MST1 to regulate cell death
