Product Specific Information

This antibody was cross-adsorbed to phospho-tyrosine coupled to agarose, then affinity purified using phospho-c-Src (Tyr-215) peptide (without carrier).
The antibody detects a 60 kDa protein on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of mouse SYF cells transformed with c-Src and human A431 cells treated with pervanadate.

Target Information

SRC is a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase and proto-oncogene involved in the regulation of embryonic development and cell growth.
It associates with various cell surface receptors to facilitate signal transduction and is involved in cytoskeletal organization, cell cycle regulation, and apoptosis.
In humans, the SRC gene is located on chromosome 20. Its activity is regulated by two tyrosine residues (Tyr416 and Tyr527), whose phosphorylation has opposing effects — Tyr416 phosphorylation activates, while Tyr527 phosphorylation inhibits enzyme activity.
Mutations in SRC may contribute to malignant progression in colon cancer. Two transcript variants encoding the same SRC protein have been identified.
