Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues: heat sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Cytochrome C is an electron-transporting protein located in the mitochondrial intermembrane space. It plays a critical role in oxidative phosphorylation and ATP production. Upon apoptotic stimuli, cytochrome C is released into the cytosol, where it binds apoptotic protease activating factor (Apaf-1) to activate procaspase-9 and subsequently caspase-3, a key effector of apoptosis.
