Product Specific Information
Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Cytochrome C is an electron transporting protein located in the mitochondrial intermembrane space, playing a key role in oxidative phosphorylation and ATP production.
Release of cytochrome C into the cytosol is triggered by apoptotic stimuli, where it binds apoptotic protease activating factor to activate procaspase 9.
Cytosolic cytochrome C further activates caspase 3, a critical effector in apoptosis.
