Product Specific Information
For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Cytochrome C is an electron transporting protein located within the mitochondrial intermembrane space, playing a key role in oxidative phosphorylation and ATP production.
Upon apoptotic stimuli, cytochrome C is released into the cytosol, where it binds apoptotic protease activating factor (Apaf-1), triggering activation of procaspase-9.
Cytosolic cytochrome C also activates caspase-3, a critical effector of apoptosis.
