Product Specific Information

Description:
The II/41 monoclonal antibody reacts with the μ heavy chain of mouse IgM. It does not react with other immunoglobulin classes such as IgD, IgG, or IgA. IgM is expressed intracellularly during early B lymphopoiesis and on the surface of mature B cells in bone marrow and peripheral tissues. Fluorochrome-conjugated II/41 can be used as a detection secondary for mouse IgM.

Applications Reported:
Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse bone marrow cells. Recommended usage ≤ 0.5 µg per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody should be titrated for optimal performance.

Fluorochrome Information:
eFluor™ 450 is an alternative to Pacific Blue™, excited at 405 nm and emitting at 445 nm. Ensure instrument compatibility with violet laser detection.

Filtration:
0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

Mouse IgM is an immunoglobulin M antibody produced by B cells in response to antigens. It is the first antibody generated during an immune response and is the largest immunoglobulin in serum. Composed of five heavy and five light chains, it participates in complement activation and antigen agglutination. It plays a crucial role in innate immunity and is widely used in ELISA, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.
