Product Specific Information

  • This antibody does not react with mouse or rat.
  • Heat-mediated antigen retrieval using sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) is recommended for paraffin sections.
  • Suggested positive control for IHC: human kidney.
  • For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.
  • Mouse anti-Human CD243, clone UIC2 recognizes an extracellular conformational epitope of CD243 (MDR1/Pgp), a multi-pass transmembrane protein and member of the ABC transporter family.

Target Information

The membrane-associated protein encoded by this gene is part of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily.
ABC proteins transport various molecules across cellular membranes and are divided into seven subfamilies: ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, and White.
This protein belongs to the MDR/TAP subfamily, which is involved in multidrug resistance.
It acts as an ATP-dependent drug efflux pump with broad substrate specificity, reducing drug accumulation in resistant cells and mediating resistance to anticancer drugs.
Additionally, it functions as a transporter in the blood-brain barrier.
