Mouse anti Human CD65s antibody, clone VIM-2 selectively recognizes the sialylated form of human CD65, known as CD65s (VIM-2 antigen), a leucocyte carbohydrate antigen expressed by granulocytes, monocytes and leukaemic cells of myelomonocytic lineage.

Target Information

This type 2 fucosylated carbohydrate antigen is expressed on the surface of all myeloid cells during development. Moreover, CD65 is expressed highly on granulocytes and weakly on monocytes in peripheral blood. CD65 has been reported to be a ligand for CD62E (E-Selectin). However, the sialylated form of CD65 (designated CD65s) can be used as a marker for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) as its expression increases as CD34 decreases. Finally, CD65 is important for extravascular infiltration of AML cells.
