Product Specific Information
- In sandwich ELISAs, less than 8% cross-reactivity with recombinant rat IL-10 and 1% with recombinant cotton rat IL-10 is observed.
- No cross-reactivity with recombinant human IL-10, mouse IL-10 R, human IL-10 R, canine IL-10, feline IL-10, or porcine IL-10.
- Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level: <0.10 EU per 1 µg of antibody (LAL method).
Target Information
IL-10 encodes a cytokine primarily produced by monocytes and some lymphocytes. It plays a key role in immunoregulation and inflammation by:
- Down-regulating Th1 cytokines, MHC class II antigens, and costimulatory molecules on macrophages
- Enhancing B cell survival, proliferation, and antibody production
- Blocking NF-kappa B activity
- Regulating the JAK-STAT signaling pathway
Knockout studies indicate IL-10 is critical for intestinal immune regulation. Mutations are linked to increased susceptibility to HIV-1 infection and rheumatoid arthritis.
Associated diseases include Graft-Versus-Host Disease and Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1.
