- In ELISAs, this antibody does not cross-react with recombinant mouse Amphiregulin, Betacellulin, Epigen, Epiregulin, or human EGF, HB-EGF, NRG-1 alpha, NRG1-beta 1, TGF-alpha.
- Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) binds to the EGF receptor (EGFR), a 170 kDa protein kinase, initiating multiple signaling pathways. EGFR activation leads to homo- or heterodimer formation and recruitment of SH2-containing effector proteins. EGF is expressed in kidney, brain, prostate, and salivary glands, acting as a potent mitogenic factor. It activates major pathways such as RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK, PI3K-AKT, PLCγ-PKC, and STAT. Dysregulation of EGF signaling is associated with various cancers and genetic disorders like hypomagnesemia type 4.
