Product Specific Information
Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
STAT2 is a member of the STAT protein family. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by receptor-associated kinases, then form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the nucleus to act as transcription activators.
In response to interferon (IFN), STAT2 forms a complex with STAT1 and IFN regulatory factor family protein p48 (ISGF3G), functioning as a transactivator but lacking direct DNA binding ability.
Transcription adaptor P300/CBP (EP300/CREBBP) interacts specifically with STAT2 and may be involved in blocking the IFN-alpha response by adenovirus.
