Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
STAT2 is a member of the STAT protein family. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by receptor-associated kinases, forming homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the nucleus to act as transcription activators.
Upon interferon (IFN) stimulation, STAT2 forms a complex with STAT1 and p48 (ISGF3G), functioning as a transactivator without direct DNA binding. STAT2 interacts with transcription adaptor P300/CBP (EP300/CREBBP) and may be involved in blocking IFN-alpha responses by adenovirus.
