• Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
• Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.

Target Information

STAT2 is a member of the STAT protein family. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by receptor-associated kinases and form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the nucleus to act as transcription activators.
In response to interferon (IFN), STAT2 forms a complex with STAT1 and IFN regulatory factor p48 (ISGF3G), acting as a transactivator but lacking direct DNA-binding ability. Transcription adaptor P300/CBP (EP300/CREBBP) interacts specifically with STAT2, which may be involved in blocking IFN-alpha response by adenovirus.
