Product Specific Information
The HU17 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD109, also known as the platelet-specific Gov antigen. CD109 is a GPI-anchored monomeric glycoprotein existing in two isoforms (120 and 150 kDa) derived from a 170 kDa precursor. It is expressed on activated T cells, platelets, endothelial cells, and subsets of CD34+ bone marrow cells including megakaryocyte, myeloid, erythroid, multilineage progenitors, and pluripotent hematopoietic stem cells.
CD109 expression has also been observed in various human cancer cell lines and in lung and esophageal carcinomas. It functions as a negative regulator of TGF-beta signaling in keratinocytes.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood. Recommended use ≤0.25 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Optimal antibody titration is advised for specific assays.
Target Information
CD109 is a member of the alpha2-macroglobulin/complement superfamily. It is a GPI-linked glycoprotein found on platelets, activated T-cells, and endothelial cells, known to bind and negatively regulate transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) signaling.
