Antibody detects endogenous levels of TRAF2 only when phosphorylated at Ser11.
Target Information
Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor associated factors (TRAFs) are adaptor proteins linking the TNF receptor superfamily to signaling pathways, regulating cell death and stress responses. TRAF proteins share a conserved region enabling interaction with receptors and other TRAFs, activating distinct signal cascades.
TRAF2 and TRAF3 bind directly to CD40, a NF receptor superfamily member critical for NF-kappa-B activation in B lymphocytes. TRAF2, together with TRAF6, is required for CD40 signaling in nonhemopoietic cells. Additionally, TRAF2 interacts with lymphotoxin-beta receptor (LTbetaR) along with TRAF3 and apoptosis inhibitors cIAP1 and Smac.
