PA3-870 detects Mitofilin from human, mouse, rat, canine, and feline tissues.
It has been successfully used in immunofluorescence and Western blotting procedures.
By Western blot, it detects a 90-kDa band representing Mitofilin.
The antigen used is recombinant human Mitofilin.
Target Information
Mitofilin is a transmembrane protein of the inner mitochondrial membrane and is associated with a large multimeric protein complex (~1200 kDa).
It plays a critical role in mitochondrial morphology, fusion, and fission, particularly in the formation of tubular cristae and cristae junctions.
Abnormal mitochondrial morphology has been linked to diseases such as myopathy, cardiomyopathy, rhabdomyosarcoma, and Whartin’s tumor.
