Product Specific Information

1 µg/mL of MA5-45393 was sufficient for detection of Cav1.3 in 10 µg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects approximately 250 kDa. No cross-reactivity against Cav1.2.

Target Information

CACNA1D (also known as PASNA, SANDD, or Cav1.3) encodes the alpha-1D subunit of voltage-dependent calcium channels. These channels mediate calcium ion entry into excitable cells and regulate processes such as muscle contraction, hormone or neurotransmitter release, and gene expression. Calcium channels are multisubunit complexes composed of alpha-1, beta, alpha-2/delta, and gamma subunits. The alpha-1 subunit forms the pore and determines channel properties, while auxiliary subunits modulate activity. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms exist for this gene.
