Product Specific Information
Description:
The G7 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD90 (Thy-1), a GPI-linked membrane molecule expressed by early hematopoietic cells, thymocytes, mature T cells, and neurons. CD90 regulates adhesion and signal transduction in T cells. G7 has been reported to induce TCR-mediated proliferation and thymocyte apoptosis.
Applications Reported:
- Flow cytometric analysis
- Immunohistochemical staining
- Functional studies (for functional assays, use Functional Grade purified G7, Product #16-0901)
Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤0.125 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Optimize concentration per assay.
Purity: >90% (SDS-PAGE)
Aggregation: <10% (HPLC)
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered
Target Information
CD90 (Thy-1) is a GPI-linked glycoprotein and a member of the Immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed in murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, Kupffer’s cells, and fibroblasts. CD90 is involved in cell-cell and cell-ligand interactions, particularly during synaptogenesis. It serves as a marker for various stem cells and axonal processes of mature neurons. Structural studies of CD90 contributed to defining the Immunoglobulin superfamily and the characterization of the vertebrate GPI anchor.
Diseases associated with CD90 dysfunction include nasopharyngeal carcinoma and thymoma.
