Carrier-Free

  • Reconstitution: Briefly centrifuge vial before opening. Reconstitute in 5 mM Tris, pH 7.5, to 0.1–1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex. Store at 2–8°C for up to 1 week. For long-term storage, dilute in buffer containing 0.1% BSA and store aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.
  • Storage: Lyophilized protein is stable at room temperature for 1 month. For long-term storage, keep at -20°C. Working aliquots with carrier protein are stable for at least 3 months at -20°C to -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. It acts as an osteoblast-secreted decoy receptor, negatively regulating bone resorption. It specifically binds to osteoprotegerin ligand, both being key extracellular regulators of osteoclast development. Mouse studies suggest roles in lymph-node organogenesis and vascular calcification. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been reported, though their full-length nature remains undetermined.
