Carrier-Free

• Reconstitution: Briefly centrifuge vial before opening. Reconstitute in sterile distilled water to 0.5–1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex.
  • Store reconstituted solution at 2–8°C for up to 1 week.
  • For extended storage, dilute in buffer containing carrier protein (e.g., 0.1% BSA) and store aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.
• Storage: Lyophilized protein stable at room temperature for 1 month; for long-term storage, keep at -20°C, preferably desiccated.
  • Working aliquots with carrier protein are stable ≥12 months at -20°C to -80°C.
  • Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Target Information

TRAIL (TNFSF10) is a cytokine belonging to the TNF ligand family. It preferentially induces apoptosis in transformed and tumor cells but not in normal cells, despite expression in most normal tissues.
TRAIL binds to several TNF receptor superfamily members, including TNFRSF10A/TRAILR1, TNFRSF10B/TRAILR2, TNFRSF10C/TRAILR3, TNFRSF10D/TRAILR4, and possibly TNFRSF11B/OPG.
Its activity may be modulated by decoy receptors (TRAILR3, TRAILR4, OPG) that do not induce apoptosis.
Binding of TRAIL to its receptors activates MAPK8/JNK, caspase 8, and caspase 3.
Receptors include death domain-containing DR4 and DR5, and decoy receptors DcR1 and DcR2.
TRAIL is a type II membrane protein expressed in various human tissues and induces apoptosis and NF-κB activation similar to TNF and Fas ligand.
