Product Specific Information
A 1:5000 dilution of MA5-45122 was sufficient for detection of HSP27 in 20 µg of HeLa cell lysate by ECL immunoblot analysis. Detects approximately 25 kDa or 27 kDa. Recognizes HSP25 and HSP27, and cross-reacts with alpha B crystallin.
Target Information
HSPB1 (heat shock protein beta-1 or HSP27) is a small heat shock protein that functions as a molecular chaperone, maintaining denatured proteins in a folding-competent state. It contributes to stress resistance and actin organization, and regulates biological processes such as phosphorylation and axonal transport of neurofilament proteins. Mutations in the HSPB1 gene are associated with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2F and distal hereditary motor neuronopathy type 2B.
