Product Specific Information

1 µg/mL of MA5-45116 was sufficient for detection of HSP90 in 20 µg of heat-shocked HeLa cell lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Detects 90 kDa. This antibody is reactive with both the constitutive and inducible form of HSP90. It does not bind to the native form and does not recognize HSP90 from E. coli or yeast.

Target Information

HSP90 proteins are highly conserved molecular chaperones involved in signal transduction, protein folding, degradation, and morphologic evolution. They associate with cochaperones to fold newly synthesized proteins or refold denatured proteins after stress.
There are two major cytosolic forms: HSP90AA1 (inducible) and HSP90AB1, as well as mitochondrial variants (Chen et al., 2005).
