Description:
The LH1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Herpes Virus Entry Mediator (HVEM, TR2), a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. HVEM is expressed on T cells, B cells, monocytes, neutrophils, and dendritic cells. It acts as a cellular mediator for herpes simplex virus (HSV) entry through binding of viral envelope glycoprotein D (gD). The cytoplasmic region of HVEM interacts with TRAF family members, mediating immune response signaling. HVEM also serves as a ligand for BTLA, suggesting a conserved regulatory pathway in lymphocyte activation and homeostasis.
The LH1 antibody functions as a blocking antibody, interfering with HVEM-LIGHT interaction but not HVEM-BTLA interaction.

Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis and functional assays.
Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Recommended use ≤ 0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell number may range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test. Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.
Purity: Greater than 90%, as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Aggregation: Less than 10%, as determined by HPLC.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
TNFRSF14 (HVEM):
A member of the TNF-receptor superfamily and a mediator of HSV entry via glycoprotein D binding. The cytoplasmic region binds TRAF family members, activating immune signaling pathways. Activation in T cells promotes proliferation and cytokine production, contributing to inflammation and CTL-mediated tumor immunity. Multiple alternatively spliced variants exist, though full-length sequences of some remain undetermined.
