Target Information
BCL-2는 세포사멸(apoptosis)을 조절하는 핵심 단백질로, 세포 사멸을 억제하거나 촉진하는 기능을 수행합니다.
BCL-2 패밀리 단백질은 서로 이합체(dimer)를 형성하여 세포사멸 조절을 더욱 세밀하게 조정합니다.
예를 들어, Bag1은 BCL-2와 이합체를 형성하여 항세포사멸 효과를 강화하며, Bax와 Bak은 미토콘드리아에서 cytochrome c 방출을 유도하여 세포사멸을 촉진합니다.
BCL-2의 과발현은 B세포 림프종 및 전립선암과 같은 여러 인체 암과 연관되어 있으며, 특히 BCL-2 유전자의 면역글로불린 중쇄 자리로의 전위는 여포성 림프종의 주요 원인으로 알려져 있습니다.
정상 또는 반응성 생식 중심은 BCL-2 음성이지만, 대부분의 여포성 림프종에서는 BCL-2 α 단백질이 과발현됩니다.
BCL-2는 C-말단이 다른 두 가지 전사 변이체를 가지며, 이는 대체 스플라이싱에 의해 생성됩니다.
