This monoclonal AN-V2 antibody reacts with the human oncostatin M (OSM) receptor. OSM, a member of the interleukin-6 cytokine family, is produced by T cells, activated monocytes, and dendritic cells. In humans, OSM binds two receptor complexes:

• Type I OSM receptor: composed of LIFR and gp130, recognizes both LIF and OSM
• Type II OSM receptor: composed of gp130 and OSMR subunit, specifically binds OSM and activates the JAK/STAT signaling pathway

A soluble form of the OSM receptor is also recognized by this antibody. OSMR is expressed in bone marrow, endothelium, liver, lung, and various tumor cell lines.

The AN-V2 monoclonal antibody specifically recognizes the type II (beta) OSM receptor.

Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on A375 cell line. Recommended 5 µL (0.5 µg) per 100 µL test volume. Applicable for 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information

Oncostatin M (OSM) is part of the IL6 cytokine family. Functional receptors for IL6 cytokines are multisubunit complexes involving hematopoietin receptor superfamily members. Many IL6 cytokines utilize gp130 as a common receptor subunit. OSM binds gp130 and, together with the leukemia inhibitory factor receptor (LIFR), induces proliferative responses in permissive cells. OSMR forms an alternative receptor complex (gp130 + OSMR heterodimer) that is activated by OSM but not by LIF.
