Target Information
Contactin 1 encodes a GPI-anchored neuronal membrane protein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It functions as a cell adhesion molecule and may be involved in axon connection formation during nervous system development. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
