Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of GRK2 only when phosphorylated at Tyr86.
Target Information
ADRBK1 (GRK2) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in phosphorylation of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). GRK2 (83 kDa) is one of six identified GRKs, ubiquitously expressed in mammals. Upon ligand binding and G protein activation, GPCRs are phosphorylated by GRKs, leading to receptor internalization regulated by beta-arrestin-1 and activation of the Ras–Raf–ERK1/2 signaling pathway. GRK2 activity is tightly controlled by phosphorylation from kinases such as PKC, Src, and ERK1/2, as well as by protein interactions. ERK-mediated phosphorylation on serine 670 inactivates GRK2 through a negative feedback mechanism.
