Product Specific Information
The antibody detects a 41 kDa protein corresponding to the molecular mass of Arpc1b on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of human A431 and mouse C2C12 treated with calyculin A. This reactivity is removed with lambda phosphatase treatment.
Target Information
This gene encodes one of seven subunits of the human Arp2/3 protein complex. This subunit is a member of the SOP2 family of proteins and is most similar to the protein encoded by gene ARPC1A. Both proteins may function as the p41 subunit of the human Arp2/3 complex, which is involved in actin polymerization control. The p41 subunit may contribute to assembling and maintaining the Arp2/3 complex structure, adapting its function to various cell types or developmental stages. It also plays a role in centrosomal homeostasis as an activator and substrate of Aurora A kinase.
