- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues: heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 min.

Steroidogenic factor-1 (SF-1) is an orphan nuclear receptor involved in organ development and differentiation of the endocrine system.
It is essential for fetal development of the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, gonads, and adrenal gland.
SF-1 promotes transcriptional activity of many steroidogenic enzymes from the cytochrome P450 family.
It contains two activation function domains (AF1 and AF2) necessary for interaction with other nuclear receptors and coactivators/corepressors such as SRC-1, GRIP1, CREB binding protein (CBP), and SMRT.
