Target Information
Serine/threonine-protein kinase that converts transient diacylglycerol (DAG) signals into prolonged physiological effects downstream of PKC. Involved in regulation of MAPK8/JNK1 and Ras signaling, Golgi membrane integrity and trafficking, NF-kappa-B activation, cell migration, differentiation, proliferation, and various cellular responses including cardiac hypertrophy, angiogenesis, apoptosis, and inflammatory signaling. Phosphorylates EGFR and RIN1, influencing MAPK and Ras pathways, and maintains Golgi structure and vesicle transport.
