Target Information

NF-kB is a nuclear transcription factor activated by various extra- and intracellular stimuli such as cytokines, UV radiation, stress, injury, and bacterial or viral products.
It regulates cellular events including growth, differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis, and inflammation.
NFKB1 (p50) is synthesized as a p105 precursor protein containing an N-terminal RHD region with nuclear localization, DNA-binding, and dimerization domains.
NFKB1 (p50) forms homodimers or heterodimers with p65 to create the functional NF-kB factor, directing nuclear translocation and DNA binding.
NF-kB is implicated in AIDS, hematogenic cancer metastasis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
