Product Specific Information

• Membrane permeabilization is required for flow cytometry applications.
• For FACS analysis, use 20 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10^6 cells in 100 µL.
• Mouse anti-Human CD68 antibody, clone Ki-M7 recognizes the 110 kDa integral membrane glycoprotein CD68 (Macrosialin), predominantly expressed on intracellular lysosomes of macrophages/monocytes (Kupffer cells, microglia, histiocytes, osteoclasts).
• Also expressed to a lesser extent by dendritic cells and peripheral blood granulocytes.

Target Information

CD68 (Macrosialin) is a 110 kDa integral membrane glycoprotein predominantly expressed on intracellular lysosomes of monocytes and macrophages and to a lesser extent by dendritic cells and granulocytes.
It plays a role in phagocytic activities of tissue macrophages, both in intracellular lysosomal metabolism and extracellular interactions.
CD68 is expressed by interdigitating reticulum cells in tonsil and in certain histiocytic lymphoma, histiocytosis, AML, and granulocytic sarcoma.
Elevated CD68 expression has been observed in CD34+ cells in various human malignancies, including Acute Myeloid Leukemia studies.
