Product Specific Information
The UCHT1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD3e, a 20 kDa subunit of the TCR complex. The epsilon chain, along with other CD3 subunits (gamma and delta), is essential for proper assembly and surface expression of the TCR complex. CD3 is expressed by thymocytes and all mature T cells. Crosslinking of TCR via immobilized UCHT1 triggers intracellular signaling leading to activation and proliferation.

Applications Tested: Tested on normal human peripheral blood cells at ≤1 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration recommended.

Target Information
The CD3 complex is crucial for transducing antigen-recognition signals in T cells and regulating TCR surface expression. It includes CD3 gamma, delta, epsilon, and zeta subunits, encoded by genes on chromosome 11. These subunits mediate signal transduction via tyrosine-based motifs. CD3 is expressed on most peripheral blood lymphocytes and thymocytes but not on B or NK cells. Defects in CD3 genes are linked to immunodeficiency.
