Product Specific Information
- Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as ~150 kDa band and upon reduction generates a ~25 kDa light chain and a ~50 kDa heavy chain.

Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is the catalytic subunit of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), a heterotrimer with alpha, beta, and gamma subunits. AMPK acts as an energy sensor regulating cellular metabolism. Upon activation under metabolic stress, AMPK phosphorylates and inactivates acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) and HMG-CoA reductase (HMGCR), key enzymes in fatty acid and cholesterol biosynthesis. Mouse studies suggest this subunit is essential for maintaining myocardial energy homeostasis and regulating insulin sensitivity.
