Product Specific Information

Description:
The 22URTI monoclonal antibody reacts with human interleukin (IL)-22, a 20 kDa cytokine of the IL-10 family secreted primarily by Th17 and NK cells. IL-22 expression is induced by IL-23 and serves as an effector cytokine in Th17-mediated immune responses. Its receptor is a heterodimer of IL-10R2 and IL-22R1.

Applications Reported:
Used for intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested for intracellular staining and flow cytometry of Th17-polarized human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test.

Fluorophore Information:
eFluor® 660 replaces Alexa Fluor® 647. Excitation at 633–647 nm, emission at 668 nm, compatible with red laser detection.

Filtration:
0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

IL-22 (IL-10-related T-cell derived inducible factor) is part of the IFN–IL-10 cytokine family. It is produced mainly by activated T cells and NK cells, encoded on chromosome 12q. IL-22 signals through IL-22R1 and IL-10R2 receptor complex, activating the JAK-STAT pathway.
It acts primarily on nonimmune cells such as keratinocytes, hepatocytes, and epithelial cells, regulating innate immunity and wound healing. IL-22 expression is elevated in chronic inflammation and plays a key role in host defense against extracellular pathogens.
