Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
RGS13 is the smallest member of the mammalian RGS (regulators of G protein-signaling) family, homologous to yeast SST2 and C. elegans egl-10 proteins. RGS proteins act as GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs) for Ga subunits, attenuating G protein-mediated signaling.
RGS13 is highly expressed in human tonsil, thymus, lung, lymph node, and spleen. It regulates Gai, Gaq, and Gas coupled signaling cascades and functions as a GTPase-activating protein for Gai and Gao.
RGS13 blocks MAPK activity induced by Gai- or Gaq-coupled receptors and attenuates GTPase-deficient Gaq (GaqQL)-mediated cAMP response element activation.
The human RGS13 gene is localized on chromosome 1q31.2.
